Gist: See What Neighbors Did To A Drunk Man For Battering His Wife

A drunk 45-year-old man was strapped to a pole by furious neighbors after he allegedly battered his wife and pushed her on the stairs, Globo reports.

The man allegedly left his wife covered in cuts and bruises after beating her near their home in Bahia, Brazil. When neighbors were alerted to the incident, they detained him by tying him to a pole.

Military police were later called to the scene on Sunday night, and the traumatized victim, Maria Viana Santana Pereir, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated for her wounds.

The husband was also unbound and taken to the Jacobina police station, where he was charged and held in custody.
